US stocks are up nicely, almost a percent today, looking to finish out the week on a high note.
Among gainers today are some previously left-for-dead retailers.
Shares of Stein Mart (SMRT) are up 10.2% today, despite February same store sales coming in twice as bad as expected. Short sellers must be pulling their hair out today....
Another retailer making big gains is Coldwater Creek (CWTR), up 19% today and 42% just this week...After the company gave pleasant 2010 earnings guidance, Barclay upgraded the stock today and doubled their price target from $5 to $10. Great example of a troubled company, but a great stock price.
