Intra-day action

After opening slightly in the red, the DJIA is up 45points at the moment.  UTX and Boeing (BA) are leading the index higher.

Among gainers is Arris Group (ARRS), up 15% on an upgrade from Needham.  The firm upgraded shares based on an "early-innings" push by the cable industry into the voice and data business for small businesses.

Also up today is Broadwind Energy(BWEN), whose strategy is "Unifying the New World of Wind."  JP Morgan downgraded much of the solar sector today, but mentioned wind companies like BWEN as the place to be for those seeking exposure to alternative energy.

Sketchers USA (SKX) is enjoying a bit of the Cramer Effect, after being mentioned on Mad Money last night.  Jim Cramer made the point that after netting out $6 in cash per share, SKX trades at 9times earnings with a 15% long term expected growth rate.

Among losers are earnings misses from MLNK, SWSI, and THO.

Select Medical Holdings (SEM) is down today due to a Senate investigation into patient deaths and substandard treatment.
