Nonfarm payrolls expanded by 162,000 in March, just shy of estimates

The Bureau of Labor Statistics released their report for March 2010.

The good news is that employment increased by 162,000 in March.  That is significantly less than economists were expected just days ago.  Much of the hiring was due to short term Census employees.



The number of people "not in the labor force" continues to inch down, another good sign:
